TTI Success Insights publishes a multi-science suite of workplace assessments. The TTI DISC behavioral assessment describes how people tend to behave, communicate and respond. 12 Driving Forces describes why people may be motivated to act. Talent Insights combines behavioral and motivational reporting. Exact format depends on the assessment your employer or authorized distributor assigns. These tools are not cognitive aptitude tests. There is no universal ideal DISC style. The employer or administrator controls how reports are used and shared.

JobTestPrep publishes a third-party TTI Success Insights guide and related personality preparation. JobTestPrep is not TTI Success Insights, not an authorized assessment administrator and not the employer. Ethical preparation means understanding which assessment you received and answering honestly, not manufacturing a target graph or motivator profile.

The educational questions on this page test your understanding of TTI Success Insights terminology, assessment distinctions, reports, ethical preparation, and candidate process. They are not official TTI, DISC, 12 Driving Forces, Talent Insights, employer, or JobTestPrep items and do not reproduce a proprietary questionnaire, scoring key, graph, norm table, benchmark, or report.

What Is TTI Success Insights?

TTI Success Insights (often shortened to TTI SI) is a long-standing provider of science-based talent assessments used for hiring support, leadership development, team building, coaching and related workplace applications. The portfolio includes behavioral style (DISC), motivators (12 Driving Forces), combined reports such as Talent Insights, and multi-science configurations in the TriMetrix family. Historical corporate references may mention Target Training International. Prefer current TTI Success Insights branding on invitations and reports.

TTI’s DISC is one commercial DISC implementation. It is not identical to every free DISC quiz, Everything DiSC product or Thomas PPA administration.

What Is the TTI DISC Assessment?

TTI’s DISC assessment is a behavioral evaluation of observable workplace behavior. TTI states that the tool measures natural and adapted behaviors and is not a pass-or-fail exam. It is commonly used to improve communication, teamwork, self-awareness and role-related conversations. Organizations may also use it alongside job benchmarks. Benchmark use is an employer decision, not proof that one dimension is universally best.

What Does DISC Stand For?

In current TTI Success Insights materials, DISC refers to four behavioral dimensions:

  • Dominance
  • Influence
  • Steadiness
  • Compliance

Some non-TTI DISC products rename the fourth factor (for example Conscientiousness). Do not assume every DISC brand uses TTI’s wording.

The Four TTI DISC Dimensions

Use these high-level, original summaries. They are not proprietary report text.

Dominance

Patterns related to how a person responds to problems and challenges, including pace of deciding and drive to act.

Influence

Patterns related to how a person handles people and contacts, including persuasion, enthusiasm and social engagement.

Steadiness

Patterns related to how a person handles pace and consistency, including patience, support and preference for stability.

Compliance

Patterns related to how a person handles procedures and constraints, including structure, accuracy and comfort with rules.

People typically show combinations across dimensions rather than a single rigid box.

Does Everyone Have Only One DISC Type?

No. TTI reporting looks at the full graph profile, including highs and lows across dimensions. Combinations and adaptations matter. Treat simplistic “I am only a D” labels as incomplete for TTI-style interpretation.

Natural and Adapted Behavioral Styles

Current TTI materials describe two graphs:

  • Natural style: how the person prefers to behave; instinctive, authentic preferences.
  • Adapted style: how the person adjusts behavior to the current environment or situation.

A difference between graphs can support coaching conversations about role fit or pressure. It does not automatically prove dishonesty, stress diagnosis or job failure. Do not try to manufacture matching graphs.

Optional format-only illustration

The illustration below is format-only. It is not an official TTI item, is not scored, does not map to D, I, S, C or any Driving Force and is not one of the 45 educational questions.

Rank these four workplace statements from most like you to least like you:

  1. I like starting difficult tasks quickly.
  2. I enjoy energizing a group discussion.
  3. I prefer a steady, predictable workflow.
  4. I check procedures carefully before acting.

Live TTI wording, ranking rules and graphs are proprietary. Follow only the authorized assessment interface.

What Is the 12 Driving Forces Assessment?

12 Driving Forces measures motivation: why a person may be driven to act. TTI roots the model in six motivator dimensions, each split into two opposing drivers, producing twelve driving forces:

  • Knowledge
  • Utility
  • Surroundings
  • Others
  • Power
  • Methodologies

Driving Forces concern values and motivation intensity. They are not DISC behavior scores and cannot be converted into D, I, S or C.

What Does Talent Insights Measure?

Talent Insights combines TTI DISC (how) and 12 Driving Forces (why) into one multi-science reporting path. Organizations may use it for development, coaching, team alignment or hiring support with benchmarks. Completing Talent Insights is not the same as completing every TriMetrix configuration.

What Is TriMetrix?

TriMetrix is a TTI multi-science product family. Configurations vary. Examples described in current TTI materials include:

  • TriMetrix EQ: behaviors, driving forces and emotional quotient.
  • TriMetrix HD: behaviors, driving forces, competencies and acumen/thinking measures.

Do not assume every TriMetrix invitation includes every science. Confirm the assigned product name.

How Long Does a TTI Assessment Take?

Provide separate planning ranges:

  • TTI DISC: official TTI guidance commonly points to about 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Talent Insights: a TTI comparison article describes about 15 minutes for each of the two component sets.
  • 12 Driving Forces alone or TriMetrix: follow the invitation; public universal times are not always posted on overview pages.

Deadlines on the invitation are separate from completion estimates.

How Many Questions Are on TTI DISC?

Official TTI materials describe a DISC questionnaire with 96 adjective answers measured in 24 blocks of four ranking items. JobTestPrep’s TTI guide also describes a 24-set behavioral ranking section for Talent Insights. Prefer official TTI wording for structure and follow the live interface for any variant your organization assigns.

Is TTI DISC Timed?

TTI does not present DISC as a cognitive speed test. Completion is usually expected within a short session window. Some third-party materials describe per-section clocks for Talent Insights. Treat any on-screen timer or invitation deadline as binding for your session without inventing a universal stopwatch rule for every TTI product.

Is the Assessment Proctored?

Online delivery does not automatically mean unproctored. Some organizations use quiet self-completion. Others apply monitoring rules or supervised sessions. Follow the employer or distributor instructions for your invitation.

Can You Pause the Assessment?

Pause and resume rules depend on the platform configuration and invitation. Do not assume unlimited pausing. If the session freezes or closes unexpectedly, contact the administering organization or TTI/partner support through authorized channels.

Does TTI DISC Have Correct Answers?

No conventional factual answer key exists. Honest ranking of recurring workplace behavior is the ethical standard. TTI has publicly advised against using AI to fabricate assessment answers.

Can You Fail a TTI Assessment?

There is no universal provider passing score for DISC style. Employers may use job benchmarks or comparison reports. Development uses may involve no pass decision. A candidate may still advance or not based on the organization’s full process. No DISC dimension is universally superior.

What Does a TTI Report Show?

Depending on product, reports may cover behavioral graphs (including natural and adapted views), dimension explanations, motivators, combined Talent Insights narratives, team or comparison views and, for some TriMetrix versions, additional sciences. Exact page content is proprietary. Do not treat third-party feedback as an official TTI report.

Will You Receive Your Report?

Often the employer, coach or authorized distributor controls whether you receive a full report, a summary or a facilitated debrief. Do not assume automatic candidate ownership of every report file.

Are TTI Reports Clinical?

No. TTI workplace assessments are occupational tools. They are not mental-health diagnoses, medical clearances or fitness determinations.

TTI DISC versus 12 Driving Forces

Topic TTI DISC 12 Driving Forces
Focus Observable behavioral style (how) Motivation and values (why)
Core structure D, I, S, C dimensions Six motivator dimensions / twelve drivers
Interchangeable scores? No No

Two people can show similar behavior for different motivational reasons.

TTI DISC versus Talent Insights

DISC alone reports behavior. Talent Insights adds Driving Forces motivation to the same candidate experience family. Naming matters: an invitation labeled only DISC is not automatically the full Talent Insights package.

TTI DISC versus Everything DiSC

Everything DiSC is a different commercial DISC product family. Items, reports, scoring presentation and publisher materials differ. Affiliation should not be assumed.

TTI DISC versus Thomas PPA

Thomas PPA is a distinct behavioral assessment from Thomas. It may use DISC-related workplace concepts but remains a separate product with different administration and reporting. For Thomas’ cognitive battery, see the Thomas GIA Test guide when GIA is named.

TTI versus SHL OPQ32

Both relate to workplace behavior or personality constructs, but frameworks, formats, scales and reports differ. Scores cannot be converted. See the SHL OPQ32 Test guide.

TTI versus Talogy PAPI

PAPI uses a needs-and-roles framework. TTI DISC and Driving Forces use different constructs. Reports are not interchangeable. See the Talogy PAPI Test guide.

TTI versus Gallup CliftonStrengths

CliftonStrengths focuses on Gallup talent themes. TTI DISC concerns behavioral style. Driving Forces concern motivation. Do not convert themes into DISC graphs or motivators. See the Gallup CliftonStrengths guide.

TTI versus McQuaig Word Survey

McQuaig Word Survey uses a different word-ranking framework and McQuaig reports. TTI DISC and Driving Forces are not McQuaig profiles. See the McQuaig Word Survey guide when McQuaig is named.

For framework-level DISC basics across publishers, see the generic DISC Assessment guide. Keep that page general and this page TTI-specific.

How to Prepare Ethically for TTI Success Insights

  1. Confirm the exact assessment name.

  3. Read the full invitation.
  4. Check the deadline.
  5. Confirm device and browser requirements.
  6. Plan uninterrupted time.
  7. Learn the response format.
  8. Think about recurring workplace behavior.
  9. Distinguish normal behavior from aspirational behavior.
  10. Distinguish behavior from motivation.
  11. Answer honestly.
  12. Avoid searching for an ideal DISC profile.
  13. Avoid imitating a job benchmark.
  14. Do not memorize third-party response keys.
  15. Do not use AI or another person during the live assessment.
  16. Request accommodations through the authorized process.
  17. Contact official support for technical problems.
  18. Follow all live instructions.

Free versus Paid Preparation

Free preparation can help you:

  • identify the assigned assessment name;
  • distinguish DISC behavior from Driving Forces motivation;
  • understand provider terminology;
  • review ethical preparation;
  • prepare a quiet environment;
  • understand report limitations;
  • review official support resources.

Paid third-party preparation may help only for verified general features such as format familiarization, general personality practice, educational explanations and unofficial feedback.

Current JobTestPrep finding: the dedicated route personality-tti-success-insights-test-prep returns 404. The live editorial guide is https://www.jobtestprep.com/tti-personality-test-prep#richard. Its commercial sellbox currently matches JobTestPrep’s generic personality package (public SKUs around USD 79 / 89 / 99 for access tiers such as one week, one month and three months, with one-time license language rather than automatic renewal on the visible sellbox). Included practice language centers on a personality study guide, a full personality practice test and 30 single-trait practice tests. Treat those materials as general personality resources, not a dedicated official TTI simulation or official DISC graph engine.

JobTestPrep is a third-party preparation provider. It is not TTI Success Insights, the employer, an authorized assessment administrator, or the official report provider. Its questions, trait exercises, recommended responses, reports, and role feedback are not official TTI items, DISC graphs, Driving Forces results, Talent Insights reports, norms, scoring keys, or employer benchmarks.

Do not expect preparation to guarantee a preferred DISC style, motivator, favorable profile, interview, promotion, job offer or employment outcome.

Common Mistakes

  • Treating every DISC assessment as identical.
  • Confusing TTI DISC with Everything DiSC.
  • Confusing TTI DISC with Thomas PPA.
  • Confusing behavior with motivation.
  • Assuming Talent Insights is only DISC.
  • Assuming every TriMetrix version is identical.
  • Looking for correct personality answers.
  • Creating an ideal DISC graph.
  • Assuming high Dominance is always better.
  • Assuming low Compliance is always a weakness.
  • Treating a behavioral style as a fixed personality type.
  • Interpreting natural and adapted differences as dishonesty.
  • Using generic DISC descriptions as official TTI specifications.
  • Treating a JobTestPrep report as an official TTI report.
  • Assuming every employer uses a universal benchmark.
  • Expecting the provider to release employer-controlled feedback.
  • Changing answers only to manufacture consistency.
  • Copying a target job profile.
  • Using AI during the live assessment.
  • Using leaked or recalled items.
  • Treating an educational score as a behavioral profile.
